Probing with the edge finder

A very useful accessory for datum setting is the HEIDENHAIN KT edge finder: Simply move the edge finder toward a side of the workpiece until the stylus deflects. The counter automatically stores the exact position, taking into account the direction of approach and the radius of the stylus. The KT edge finder allows you to set datums quickly and easily, without leaving marks on the workpiece.
