Datums define the correlation between the workpiece and the dimensions. The position displays support the user in datum setting. You can save several datums in a table to make even complex operations easy.
You can always enter positions either as absolute positions, i.e., referenced to the datum or as incremental positions, i.e., referenced to the last position—just as your workpiece drawing is dimensioned.
Position displays use the reference marks of linear and angle encoders to restore the association between slide position and display values quickly and easily after a power interruption.
For turning, the position display takes into account the position of the current tool so that it does not have to be calculated manually. For milling, the tool radius is also considered. Several tools can be stored in a table.
